Measuring Guides
There are 3 measuring guides below for a horizontal slider unit, vertical unit and the lift out and hinge unit.
What tools do I need?
For all 3 units, all you need is a measuring tape, and something to note your measurements on. Either your phone or a notepad.
How to Measure for a Secondary Double Glazed Horizontal Slider

1. Measure the width
Using a tape measure, measure from wall B to wall E (on the image above) and deduct 6mm for clearance.
2. Measure the height
Measure from wall A to wall E and deduct 6mm for clearance.
3. Measure each pane’s width
Measure from wall B to the centre of point C and deduct 5mm – if you have multiple horizontal units, be sure to measure these 3 areas for each, as some older windows could each have different sizes.
