Made To Measure Roof & Skylight Glass
Roof glass is an extremely effective way to bring high volumes of natural light to a room, including rooms which would otherwise have limited access to light. This can include rooflights, skylights and roof lanterns.
Roof glass can be installed in both sloping roofs and flat roofs, and they are compatible with a wide range of roof types. Furthermore, they are available in an extensive variety of bespoke shapes and sizes, made to measure your exact requirements.
With roof glass, you can bring natural light to areas where it would prove extremely difficult (or completely impossible) to install a window. Then with the addition, you can transform these areas into a more modern and attractive space, which is far more enjoyable to spend time in.
What are the benefits of skylights?
A skylight consists of a large glass panel, which is designed to be installed in a roof.
With the addition of a glass panel (replacing an area of the roof that would otherwise be completely opaque) far more natural light can be brought into the room.
In fact, due to their strategic positioning, skylights can bring 30% more light to a room (compared to regular windows).
Plus, in many roofs, these spaces would otherwise have very limited access to natural light, or opportunities to install conventional windows.
Natural light is one of the most effective ways to improve the aesthetics of the room, and how enjoyable it is to spend time in it. In turn, this opens up the room to a much broader range of potential uses.
The main benefits of installing skylights include:
- Omitting the need to turn the room’s lights on during the day
- Helping to reduce your property’s electricity bills (especially during the summer)
- Making your converted rooms more usable, and enjoyable to be in
- Being in prime position to give you a wonderful view of the night sky
- Giving you access to the health benefits associated with increased natural light. These include greater focus and productivity, and improved psychological wellbeing
- Bringing fresh air ventilation to the room
- Increasing the value of your property (and making your property more desirable when it comes to selling)
What’s more, thanks to their strategic positioning, skylights enable you to achieve all these impressive benefits, while still ensuring you maintain complete privacy for the room.
What makes roof glass so versatile?
Roof glass and skylights can be used in a wide range of different contexts.
For example, glass can be added to roofs in the form of rooflights, skylights and roof lanterns.
The applications of roof glass include:
- Kitchens
- Living rooms
- Loft conversions
- Bathrooms
- Hallways, entrances and walkways
- Orangery glass
- Outhouses
- Extensions
- Commercial buildings (such as offices and retail spaces)
- Public buildings (such as libraries and train stations)
