Replacement Glass for Oven Doors
Stevenage Glass supply replacement oven glass to customers across Stevenage, St Albans, Hertfordshire and the surrounding areas. We specialise in creating bespoke glass products, including replacement glass panels for all oven models. If the glass on your oven has cracked or shattered — don’t worry, we can help.
With over 50 years’ experience in the glazing industry, we’ve mastered our craft. The glass we produce is some of the sleekest, sturdiest and finest glass available, all hand-cut with precision by our expert craftsmen.
Here at Stevenage Glass, our team can cut a replacement piece of glass to size for your oven door – so if the glass has shattered, or cracked, we can get you a replacement for any oven model.
Please note: We can only replace the oven glass, we can not replace the oven door. In most cases, the oven door will be fine, it’s just the glass that needs to be replaced.
Send over the measurements of your oven glass, and we’ll cut the replacement glass to size. We offer a supply only cutting service, or we can deliver the new glass directly to you.
Give our team a call on 01438 540 140, or send us your measurements with our contact form.
How do I remove the oven door glass to add the replacement?
As a brief disclaimer – this does depend on the size and the brand of the oven, so it’s always best to get in touch with the manufacturer before you follow these instructions. But if they are being particularly elusive, these points are a good place to start.
- Turn the Oven Off
This seems obvious but you should always double-check that no heat is being emitted. We’d recommend waiting a minimum of one hour before you look to replace the glass with the oven off. One slightly quicker way of doing this is by leaving the door open allowing the heat to escape faster.
Make sure that the power is switched off (and this goes for changing/repairing pretty much any appliance).
- Remove the Broken Glass
Due to the sharpness of your existing glass, it’s important that you protect yourself so wear thick gloves, and don’t do it barefoot, wear sensible shoes!
Remove the door handle and top frame of the oven (if applicable) and all screws holding the glass in place, and prepare the floor with the use of a clean towel, which you’ll be setting the glass door down upon.
Remove the oven door carefully on to the towel with your gloves on, then take out the existing oven glass after removing the inner screws.
- Install your New Glass
Now it’s time to install and replace your oven’s glass and get it back in working order.
Place your new glass in the oven door, then proceed to put back the handle and top part of the frame, with all screws you previously took out, and ensure all screws are tight.
