• Upfront cost – Tiles typically require a lower initial material cost (although the extended installation labour can increase overall prices). Glass requires a moderate upfront cost, due to the bespoke cutting element. 
• Repair and durability – Tiles can be known to chip or scuff over time. But, if a single tile chips, then an individual piece can usually be removed and replaced. Toughened glass (used in glass splashbacks) is extremely durable and resistant to impact and heat. So, it is almost impossible for this glass to crack during normal kitchen use.
