Step 1: measuring and planning

First things first, it’s always best to know exactly what available space you have to work with. This way you can start to plan your actual bathroom space and layout properly.

• Measure the floor space and the height of the bathroom
• Using these measurements, start to roughly plan where you would like things to go e.g. the sink, toilet, shower etc.
• Always remember to consider where the window is positioned in the bathroom and any light fittings. This may determine where you decide to install certain items.
• Take into account if you would like a shower door on a hinge that opens outwards, as you will need to allow the space for this.

Recess cubicles – This is where there are three solid walls and you only need a door to gain access in and out of the shower.
