Stevenage Glass Celebrates 50th Anniversary

It’s been quite a month for us here at Stevenage glass as we celebrate our 50th anniversary! Reaching your 50th anniversary is no small feat for a company these days, and in light of this, we’re going to take a brief look back through our company’s history and at some exciting new things we’ve introduced recently, like our company rebrand, to see just how far we have come in the last 50 years.

Our history

Throughout the last 50 years, we’ve seen many changes as the company has flourished and expanded. Starting out at our premises on Argyle Way, we soon outgrew this and moved to Cavendish Road, and we haven’t looked back since!

Glass and Glazing Federation

The Glass and Glazing Federation (GGF) are the industry authority when it comes to producing, supplying and fitting glass and glazing products throughout the UK and overseas.

As a founding member of the GGF, Stevenage Glass carries out all our work to the highest quality, meeting industry standards across the board, and are proud to be associated with such industry leaders. Our affiliation with GGF further reinforces our commitment to the industry and work we do.

Rebranding

When a company rebrands, the temptation is always to modernise as much as possible to make a brand completely new, but in our case we felt that this would be missing the point.

Reaching your 50th anniversary is an impressive achievement! It’s a testament to the company’s hard work and the quality of their product and service. Therefore, we looked to create a style that not only gave us a fresh lick of paint, but also celebrated our past and linked into the product that we’ve become experts with: glass. And here is the finished product:

We went with what is known as a ‘modern heritage’ feel; minimal and modern but with echos to how things used to be, without trying to look like an actual old brand. We used simple lines to make shapes like panes of glass, and a light, delicate colour scheme to create a theme that runs from the logo to the background patterns and beyond.

As our anniversary celebrations continue to unfold, you’ll be hearing more about the brand, as well as more about how we got to become one of the best in the business.

The Future

After an extremely successful first 50 years, we’re setting the bar high to make the next 50 even better with further progression and plans for the future – so watch this space! But one thing is for sure: we will always remain Stevenage’s original glass manufacturers and heritage glaziers.
